Atlan Community Garden: A big round of applause to everyone who has been working in the garden…(with the exception of the voles).   We welcome our new Arrival of a flow-through Worm Bin which now stands alongside her friend, the Compost Tea Brewer. There is easy access to the finished compost, as it drops into the drawers below. This also creates good air flow, which gives us a compost with a higher population of beneficial microorganisms, but without the problematic mildews, and molds. This is a big step not only towards healthier soil, (thereby healthier plants & healthier people) but also towards our first workshops.

Our berry patches are looking beautiful. Special thanks to Rob Roy for irrigation creation and to Oma and Eilidh for extra tending. If you would like to join our garden pod and be a participant in the planning and producing of delicious food, send an e-mail to Oma at  *See you Saturday mornings from 10:00 to 12:00!

Medicine Wheel: We’ve planted the wheel with culinary herbs, medicinals and flowers. A group of us gathered to learn and share about each plant and its location was divined within a quadrant of the wheel based on its healing properties, color and relationship to other plants. Irrigation and mulching are in place. Now an extra layer of patience is seeded as we wait for it to bloom.

Community Council: On May 2nd, we held our fifth quarterly Atlan Community Council. Our topic for discussion was Leadership and we explored the values inherent in leading groups or tasks.  We identified the importance of establishing goals in our various forms of togetherness, whether that be task focused or the open inclusion of new people. We all agree that Atlan Community is dedicated to making our events fun and well rounded. Coming soon, what we have been calling a Work Party, will include more learning opportunities, adventure, skill sharing, music and/or dance. Come see what we are up to this summer~!

Opening the Field: The future site of our ‘learning center’ has been under the cover of old growth scotch broom. Its a beautiful area that we plan to be a hosting place for outdoor educational opportunities. We’veadditionally been working on

trail building, drainage, utility access,Trail marking and mapping ahead: Please save aluminum can tops/bottoms as we will be repurposing them as decorative trail blazes (pass them along to Holly.)

The Kin of Atlan…is an invitation to be involved with us, this land, and this vision. It’s a very real opportunity to Learn and Live with Atlan. It’s happening. The kin are gathering. We want you to gather with us. Click here to Connect.
With much excitement and Love,
the Atlan Community
