..::What we’ve been up to::..

  • Summer Solstice: is a time of joy, celebration and illuminature when our world is fully drenched in light. Our Atlan Solstice Celebration started at the Sur Sarita Greenhouse where we all gardened together followed by a beautiful potluck brunch under the shade of the big fir tree. Later in the afternoon, we all assembled up at the Sky Temple to feel the warmth of the summer sun and share our prayers and gratitudes, watching as the sun eventually slipped behind the hills….a full embrace of the longest day of 2014
  • Artifactory Open House: Last weekend, we had a fun celebration of the completion of our multi-use shop space inviting our local community.  There was a big push in the last weeks to get it ready and movement forward for opportunities for folks to use the space for creative projects and programs is in full swing. RSVP for more info!
  • Garden: Compost tea is brewing and veggies are growing.  We are learning a lot in this first summer season of growing in the greenhouse and the open air.  The deer are navigating through our fence and enjoying the spread. Time for pickling this weekend:)  Thank you to Oma and the garden community for your love and green thumbs.
  • Yoga Platforms: An outdoor amphitheater is in the works in forest camp with individual platforms for educational offerings and yoga.
  •  White Salmon Riverfest: Several of us got out for this annual event celebrating our river with a community whitewater float, bbq, and watching a great documentary film, DamNation which featured the Condit Dam removal.  After the film a Symposium created a great opportunity for diverse perspectives of river user groups to share information and discussion for how to move forward together shaping the course of the lower White Salmon River.
