Confluence events at Atlan are an exploration of cultural and community creativity. These events represent the synergy and fusion of various modalities of life experience ~ building bridges from seemingly disparate aspects of our lives from feeding ourselves, to dancing, to interacting with nature, and to finding ourselves anew together in an exciting living universe.
Fusion is a reference both to fusion dance (such as blues fusion and partner dance) though also is representative of the over-arching intention for synergy of various modalities of dance and culture.

Community Happenings

Summer Solstice at Atlan:
Atlan celebrated Summer Solstice with a weekend of wonder and song. Camping in the Forest, we also spent time in the garden, braiding garlic, and playing games Our ceremony at the Sky Temple was filled with late afternoon sunshine as we sang and prayed and celebrated. Nighttime in the yurt was a highlight with harmonium and kirtan. We enjoyed a yoga class on Sunday morning, and a heartfelt Closing Circle to honor our fathers. Adorable Rowan, aged 3, performed Eensy Weensy Spider on the ukulele and for the grand finale, 12 of us rafted the lower White Salmon River with Heather from All Adventures…..It was such a nourishing time for all~!

Atlan Community Garden:
What a bountiful year!  Our medicine wheel is full of medicinal flowers and herbs (and butterflies and bees) and Our garden rows are full of food.  Snap peas and garlic have finished and we are awaiting a bounty of tomatoes, peppers, tomatillos, cucumber, squash and more. Oma is perfecting the compost setup and in this third year is organizing it all in one place with a goal of being able to teach the bionics of agronomy…Workshops coming soon. We are seeing the miracles of super-charged soils, the blessings of extra-strength compost, and explosive results of super-activated compost teas. Applause to the Garden pod for keeping the garden lush in this summer’s heat wave.
